There is a slim chance for Dan Carter to play for the Blues in this season’s Super Rugby. The playmaker who played for the All Blacks was supposed to make his debut appearance for the Blues. He was asked to sit out for the match after they lost to the Hurricanes a couple of weeks ago. The match was held in Wellington.  He had a strain in his calf for being sidelined.

Since then Carter has not played the match against the Chief’s held last weekend. They had a narrow escape in the match which was played at Eden Park.  But He is hoping to be fit before his first appearance for Blues when they take on the Highlanders on Sunday in Dunedin.

Carter is not participating in the training with the Blues and this is not a good sign. And he might not play for the Blues for the rest of the season.

The other day Carter took to Instagram to post a motivational message which was about his experiences and failures.

In the Super Rugby Aotearoa, the Blues still have to play two matches. The bye week precedes the match in Dunedin and then they take on the Crusaders in the final round at the Eden Park.

Even Beauden Barrett has suffered an injury and he is taking less part in the training. He is recovering from the impact he had on his ribs. He got injured in the match against the Chiefs. With Otere Black mostly playing the match and Matt Diffie taking the full-back Barrette is supposed to take his place.

The Blues side will be the same for the match against the Highlanders, Hoskins Sotutu will not be playing the match as he is nursing the injury to the Knee which has kept him out of action for the last two games. James Parsons who is the hooker is also not playing as he has symptoms of concussions.

The coach of the Blues team Leon MacDonald will not allow Carter to play against his former team the Blacks although he is fit MacDonald would ask him to sit on the bench.  Carter had played a club game against the West Melton for his club SouthBridge. It was looking like he could play his first game for the Blues. But the Blues coach has always said that Carter has been signed as a substitute player for his ability to mentor.
