Temperatures are rising as we gear up for the upcoming FA cup final between Chelsea and Arsenal at Wembley today.

Looking to save their seasons, as both had disappointing performances in the Premier League, both teams will be brimming with confidence going into the final, having beaten United and City respectively, in the semis.

Here we take a look at the possible line up for the teams in this big match.

How is the Chelsea team looking?

The Blues have been playing around with their formation recently. They used a 3-4-3 formation, with pretty much the same team which beat United in the FA cup semis, in their 2-0 win against Wolves. However, in the same week, a 3-4-2-1 was launched in the match with Liverpool. Both of these are pretty powerful teams.

Moreover, two of the prime assets of the Blues- Willian and N’Golo Kante have just cleared their fitness tests. Although Lampard has stated that he’s yet unsure about them being able to join the squad.

All of these factors when combined make it very hard to predict Chelsea’s possible line up.

Considering the 3-4-3 could be reasonable though. Willian was out of the Wolves to match only because of a late injury. He worked to be in consideration till the start of the match. Hence it follows logically that he would be available today. Although whether Lampard would choose Willian over his favorite Mason Mount can be debatable.

Mateo Kovacic has been coordinating well with Jorginho. Thus it’s unlikely that Kante would return despite having last played on the 4th of July. The only unexpected upset comes in the form of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who will be out because of a late injury.

The Predicted Blues’ Lineup:

Caballero playing in goal.

Azpilicueta, Rudiger, and Kurt Zouma form the strong back three with which Lampard wants to progress.

James, Kovacic, Jorginho, and Alonso are the options in midfield. James and Alonso will be dropping deep down to support the defense in times of need. Willian and Pulisic play the wings on both sides with Giroud being the lone striker up-front.

What is cooking for Arsenal?

Recently The Gunners have been playing many matches in 3-4-3. They threw in 4-2-3-1 in the two Premier League face-offs against Chelsea but that earned them only 1 point in total.

In the last match against Watford, surprisingly, Arteta dropped a 4-2-3-1 again; which might very well be part of the mind game between the two managers.

Hector Bellerin has his fitness in question although he clocked 90 minutes against Man City.

Perhaps Arsenal would choose to start with Bukayo Saka who is a commanding presence at the left-back position and keep Bellerin on the bench. This would help to provide a healthy start with the option to switch him for Bellerin whenever necessary.

Rob Holding will most probably be coming on to replace Shkodran Mustafi as the latter’s injury takes him out. Tierney would be confirmed to line up with Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Sead Kolasinac, and Bellerin for the defensive options, adorning the Gunner bench.

Lineup Predicted for the Gunners:

Martinez starts at the goal. Mustafi, Luiz, and Tierney from the back three, who are highly mercurial and unpredictable.

Xhaka and Danny Ceballos will be heading the midfield with the rising stars Maitland-Niles and Saka providing support. The Arsenal attack looks blistering with Pepe, Lacazette, and the fiery Aubameyang being a potential hazard for the Blues’ defense.
