In Series A, Inter Milan won against their derby rival 3-1 with two goals from Lautaro Martinez and one from Romelu Lukaku. At the fabled San Siro, Conte’s Inter scored first with Lautaro Martinez nodding in a cross from Lukaku within the opening five minutes. AC Milan got some very good opportunities, especially at the beginning of the second half. Inter’s Handanovic denied Ibrahimovic twice to keep the lead. In the 57th minute, Martinez doubled the lead with a quick tap-in. Lukaku scored from a swift counter-attack after a great run after nine minutes of the second goal. With this win, Inter goes four points ahead of second-placed AC Milan.

Elsewhere, Atlanta defeated Napoli in a match that saw six second-half goals. Zapata gave Atlanta the lead in the 52nd minute only for Zielinski to equalize after six minutes. Another six minutes later, Gosens restored Atlanta’s lead with an assist from Zapata. In the 71st minute, Muriel scored for Atlanta to increase the lead. But an own goal four minutes later from Gosens gave Napoli something to hold on. Finally, Romero scored the final goal for Atlanta sealing three points for his club. In another match, Roma drew with Benevento in a goalless match.

Meanwhile, Manchester City continued their outstanding run with a 1-0 win over Arsenal at Emirates which saw Sterling scoring early with a header. This match also marked the first start for Kevin De Bruyne after his injury earlier. The city remains top of the table 10 points clear of Manchester United in second place. Manchester United and Leicester City both registered important wins against Newcastle and Aston Villa to keep their second and third place respectively.

In La Liga, Barcelona drew with Cadiz 1-1 while Real Madrid registered an important 1-0 victory against Valladolid to reduce the point gap with League leaders Atletico Madrid. Casemiro scored the goal in the 65th minute.
