With the COVID worries almost erased, India is set to welcome its biggest entertainer on its own soil. The IPL 2021 will be a massive extravaganza that will see every franchise fighting for glory while the Indian and foreign players sweat it out on the ground and help their teams win laurels.
Before the IPL 2021, the players are going to the auctioneer’s table, and there will be some full-fledged rejigging of franchises; while others will try to maintain their core team and build around themselves. The IPL auction has also become one of the most-watched and most-anticipated events in cricketing history, as each player is contested for by franchises with bags of money and finally lands in a specific one.

IPL 2021 auction’s player’s list:
For the IPL 2021 auction, around 1114 players worldwide participated. However, after the initial rounds of selection, only 292 players made it to the final round that will end in the IPL auction. Out of these, 164 are Indian nationals, 125 are overseas cricketers and 3 are players from associate nations.
The players have been divided into base price tiers that range from 20 lakh INR to 2 crore INR. Amongst the top-tier players are Jason Roy, Steve Smith, Moeen Ali, Shakib-al-Hasan, Harbhajan Singh, Kedar Jadhav, Glenn Maxwell, Sam Billings, Mark Wood, Liam Plunkett, Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Alex Carey, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Shawn Marsh, Tom Curran, Morne Morkel, Aaron Finch, Lewis Gregory, Adil Rashid, David Wiley, Hanuma Vihari, Evin Lewis, etc.
With such sensational players up for an auction, all eyes will be on the franchises splurging their wealth to bag their coveted players and make their list. While last year’s champions Mumbai Indians have retained their core squad and aim to build around it to strengthen it further, Chennai Super Kings will look to overcome last year’s dismal performance by establishing a squad that is suitably strong and can perform big time. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will also let their big guns blaze while they splurge their wealth to fortify their already phenomenal squads. Consistent Sunrisers Hyderabad will also look to bolster their squad so that they can perform superlatively in the upcoming IPL.
All in all, it will be an action-packed Spring afternoon in Chennai, when a lot will go down for the stake of the biggest entertainer in Indian and world sports history.
